Longing, Solitude, Multitude, Trauma
The Bunny Blueprint painting series was born out of an increasing frustration and uncertainty that had been looming over our conscience since around 2024. I often feel helpless and am left speechless by the current state of affairs. How are we to deal with rifts in our society and the suspicions we harbor? It is more important than ever to be critical and find the patience to go deeper. To keep asking questions and rediscover the poetry of observing.
As I envision these dream-like narrative, I choose to tell stories through compositions that utilize the organic shapes of abbreviated bunnies and other animals, rather than conveying a direct message. These are studies of shapes and forms, light and dark, space, interaction, and arrangements that cumulate in one profound moment. An epiphany that reveals a universal sentiment by balancing expression with control. – Akiko Tsuji
